Nutrition
In this course, you will learn how nutrition can have a positive influence on quality of life in old age and which aspects play a role in everyday life. The course units cover the basics of nutrition as well as current nutritional recommendations for older people. Furthermore, food is discussed as a moment of pleasure to promote well-being. A special focus is placed on the special needs of the elderly, digestive and swallowing disorders, as well as on the question of how to support nutritional behaviour in dementia. Finally, practical aids for everyday life are presented in order to promote the independence and well-being of the person being cared for.
