What am I learning here?
This course unit focusses on the importance of cultural education in old age and how it contributes to personal development and social participation. Concepts, projects and activities are presented that encourage older people to participate creatively and actively in cultural life. Topics such as cultural participation in dementia, intercultural communication and the role of culture and nutrition in everyday care are also covered.

Learning objectives

In this course unit, volunteers learn how important cultural education in old age is for the well-being and social participation of older people. They learn how to organise cultural activities that are creative and participatory in order to promote the potential of older people. They also learn how to avoid misunderstandings and create positive interaction through intercultural communication and respectful treatment of cultural differences.
